The Carroll College Athletic Training Education Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Mission Statement
It is the mission of Carroll College’s athletic training service to provide quality medical coverage and care for the student athletes competing in intercollegiate sports. There will be an emphasis on the prevention of injuries through education and preventative techniques, as well as providing a safe competitive environment. The injuries incurred while participating will be managed, treated, and rehabilitated to ensure a safe return back to sports and to daily life. When necessary, appropriate referral of student athletes to a medical and/or other health personnel will be done.

Staff
The certified athletic trainers have the most daily contact with Pioneer student-athletes. Kris Hartz is the head athletic trainer. Their main focus is on prevention of injury through proper conditioning, training, exercise and diet. As injuries occur, the athletic training staff concentrates on personal attention with care and rehabilitation. The goal for the athletic training staff is to keep student-athletes on the playing fields and courts, or to have them return to play as quickly and as healthy as possible.

Carroll’s athletic training staff also includes Ambjor Brown, graduate assistant athletic trainer, and several student athletic trainers. Pioneer student-athletes have medical coverage at every practice and every game for first-response and immediate aid.
