Mission Statement
The Carroll College strength and conditioning program supports the missions of
the athletic program, the exercise science program, and the college. Carroll’s
strength and conditioning is committed to assist student-athletes maximize
their athletic potential while decreasing the chance for injury.
Philosophy
The Carroll College strength and conditioning program philosophy can be
summarized in the following statements:
Lifting weights is not enough, other aspects of the complete package
include speed, agility, explosiveness, and quickness.
Train to be a stronger, faster athlete.
Train movements not body parts.
Perform exercises with your feet on the ground.
Use free weights most of the time to enhance balance, coordination, and
core stability.
The Van Male Strength & Conditioning Facility
Carroll’s strength and conditioning facility is made up of a 2000 square foot
weight room and a multi-use indoor facility with an indoor 4 lane running
track that surrounds the colleges basketball court. The weight room consists
of over 2 tons of free weight, rubberized dumbbells from 5-100 lbs, squat
racks, lifting platforms, Hammer Strength and Magnum Fitness machines.
